Today is Christmas Eve. This is the day we celebrate in Sweden. I plan to eat a ton of food, watch the Donald Duck Christmas special (yes, the whole country does this – look it up) and basically have a good time. I’m looking forward to it.
Last week I had dinner with some of my international friends. I asked what they would be doing on Christmas Eve. Most were staying in Stockholm, though their families live in other countries. I was trying to cheer one girl up by saying, “I think it’s great to have Christmas in Sweden. It just feels so much like Christmas with the snow and everything! Where do you normally celebrate?”
“Bethlehem.”
Ah. Well then. Um.. I guess Sweden isn’t quite as Christmassy to you.
Donald duck has a Christmas special?
Oh yes!
