It is often said that your brain works to solve problems while you sleep. In fact, there are many famous stories of people waking up with wonderful ideas or solutions to problems. Salvador Dali’s famous melting clocks painting “Persistence of Memory,” came to him in a dream. Paul McCartney woke up one morning with the tune for “Yesterday.” Dmitry Mendeleyev dreamt of an arrangement where all the elements fell into place and he created the periodic table.
And this morning, I woke up with what I thought was the greatest idea ever. When you go to an ATM to take out money, there should also be an option to print out a picture of a squirrel.
Yes, this was my brilliant idea that came to me in a dream. It took about 20 seconds for my brain to say, “Well, wait… that would hold up the line,” and about 30 seconds until my conciousness was full and I was fully aware that I was an idiot.
