A good offer?
I just got an offer in my email for Groupon – “Europe trip with SECRET destination!” Umm… no thanks. Who would take them up on that? I’m adventurous, but not THAT adventurous! “We have beaches, animals, sunshine.”

Finally, a great gift idea for Father’s Day. Won’t my husband be thrilled?
Today Stockholm is supposed to have an almost total eclipse – 90% or so I believe. We’ve been excited all week, I’ve packed special glasses in the kids’ backpacks and reminded them what time it peaks. However….. after a week of sunny days, today is total cloud cover (with small chance of snow!). When I … Read more
Lately at my job, I’ve been doing research on food and technology. Today I came across an article that beautifully combines the two and I felt the need to share it. Thanks Science! 🙂
I’ve been reading a book recently on World War 2 and was trying to mention a few things to my 10-year old son yesterday, which simply lead to a re-hash of the big WORLD WAR 3 from last year between the 3rd graders and the daycare kids at his school. It was totally off the … Read more
I was reading a post from my hometown in Texas about how many businesses are not keeping up landscaping or picking up litter which makes the city look bad. They asked for suggestions from the community. Many people suggested fining the businesses, but some suggested that school kids or scouts should have a day each … Read more
YES! Once again, my husband forgot today was St. Patrick’s day which ended up (as it does many years) with me dressed in green clothes, green jewelry and even green eye shadow waking him up and saying sweetly, “Happy St. Patrick’s Day.” “NOOOOOO!!!!!” he screams as I pinch him. Not really the best way to … Read more
I saw a friend post this title on Pintrest with a gorgeous summer outdoor bbq, counter, grill and patio furniture in a lovely setting. This was all I could think of. It’s about the only “outdoor kitchen idea” that we do here in Stockholm.
My lunch all last week. I’m currently on a salad diet.
Today is my 15th wedding anniversary! Here is a lovely picture of us on vacation a couple of years ago in Berlin. Tip for couples traveling…. if you have trouble getting a picture of the two of you together, most subway platforms have many cameras and screens for the drivers so just take a nice … Read more
…or at least restrooms in restaurants. I noticed something interesting on last week’s trip to Munich. Many of the restrooms have hair products, mouthwash, doedorant, etc. out on the sink as if you are at your own home. The first time I saw it, I assumed the restaurant was a family run place and maybe … Read more
People of Munich, Germany. A question. Is Saturday Lederhosen day? I only ask because about 40 percent of your population were wearing them last Saturday. Here’s just a few I got pictures of. Whatever the answer, I loved it. It entertained me all day.
I found a list online of things to do before you’re 40. Let’s go through them and see if they apply, shall we? 1. Travel across Europe by train. Yes, I did this. We were jammed overnight in a car that slept 6 and had to sleep with our feet on our suitcases because … Read more
Today is my 40th birthday. My 10-year old son drew a picture of what I look like at age 40. I’m really going to enjoy my new improvements, especially the sword and gun firing arms. What more could a 40 year old ask for?
Today is my last day in my 30s. My husband is whisking me off on a surprise trip today for my 40th birthday, which takes place tomorrow. I’m setting up some posts for the next few days, but I won’t be able to say where I’ve been until next week when we return. I don’t … Read more
My birthday is in a couple of days. Is it too late to put this on my wish list?
Watched the Hunger Games recently. They use a bird called “The Mockingjay” with a sweet song to lead their revolution. They could have used Magpies, like the ones right outside my balcony. Just 30 seconds of screaching from them would cause the other side to surrender any battle.
Ok, inspired by this interesting cultural phenomenon that happened last Tuesday when I hosted @sweden, I have now made a webpage where we can all contribute to “Fridges around the World!” If you want to submit your fridge, (or just look through other people’s) you can go here .
Well, it seems I’ve made world news by simply posting people’s refrigerators from around the world. This week I’m in charge of @sweden, the country’s national account, and I decided to post a picture of what was in my fridge. I find it interesting to see what’s in someone’s fridge in another country, so I … Read more
Gee, thanks Amazon. I know my birthday is coming up and all, but I’m not quite understanding why this is on the top of my list.
