Fine then! Theseus doesn’t like you either!
Upon visiting the Hadrian Arch in Athens, we learned what the inscriptions on this almost 2000 year old gate said:
One side reads “This is Athens, the ancient city of Theseus”
The other side reads “This is the city of Hadrian and not of Theseus”.
I’m not sure why I found that so funny. I guess the Hadrian side REALLY wanted to make sure people knew:
“Hey, if you think this is Theseus, you’re wrong! We are totally disassociatng ourselves with that side, so just get those ideas out of your head. Are we cool? Allright. Move along.”
